Hobby zeolite with 8-16 mm is more than 80% pure Clinop zeolite. This has the strongest effect of the 30 different types of zeolite due to its special crystal structure. Hobby zeolite, therefore, binds polluting ammonium, even if useful substances such as potassium and sodium ions are also present, as is the case with seawater. The pore size of 4 Angstroms (4 millionths of a millimetre) is also very ideal for binding the ammonium ion through electrostatic attraction. Hobby zeolite does not contain any silica and can be used in sea water without hesitation.
